Keeping Your Home Free From Mold

People love having their homes clean and free from any unwanted company, but they mostly focus on what is visible throughout the whole year, than on some things which are less obvious, but pretty dangerous. Dust and dirty seem to be bothering people so much that they clean their homes obsessively. There are people who can vacuum the whole place one a day, just to know that the place is absolutely perfect and clean. However, things which aren’t immediately visible are things which should worry us.

One of them is called mold, and this time of year is the right time to star taking care of the problem if you have it. Mold is no biggy, if you start dealing with it on time and effectively, but if you let it spread around the house, apart from all other things it can have a negative effect on health and can cause allergies. In this article we will give a few tips how to effectively deal with this problem.

Unfortunately, some researches have shown that mold is everywhere, both in and outside. It can find a way to your place through, say, windows and doors, but also through tiny openings and cracks. When it gets inside, it is not picky about the place where it’ll reside, it can be on the furniture, pets, shoes, toys, clothes and so on. Mold, and this is the worst part, releases harmful spores which can easily find a way to your lungs.

This article will be about those who need tips on how to clean the rain gutters themselves. We already mentioned tall and firm ladder, which must be put on a flat, firm surface. Experiments like putting your ladder on a table and then climbing it should be avoided at all costs. If you feel comfortable standing on the roof, and if the roof is safe for working from it, maybe you’ll find it easier than to work from the ladder. If it’s been raining, or the roof is icy or wet, do not stand on it.

Ventilating in winter using an open window is something that many people hate, so try and find another way to ventilate your home. Kitchen can leave a lot of moisture in it, so it is important that it is regularly aired, so that the moisture would dry out. The same goes for the bathroom, so make sure you keep the bathroom door opened if not at all times then after you’ve showered. When you clean your kitchen and your bathroom, use cleaners which destroy mold. If you have portable AC units, from time to time you’ll need to take them apart and clean the from mold carefully.

For leaves, you can use a leaf blower to get them out of the gutters, and for other, heavier things, you’ll have to use the hands (with gloves!). If you decide to use the leaf blower, make sure that apart from wearing goggles you also wear a dust mask, because you’ll breathe all the things which come out of the gutter. Keeping your gutters clean is a tedious job, but the consequences of havig dirty gutters are expensive.
