Solar Panels As An Energy Alternative For San Diego

You shouldn’t be paying a large utility bill. It’s bad for your pocketbook. It’s bad for the environment. It’s bad all the way around. Solar panels, especially in a warm, sunny climate like San Diego, make sense. Of course, there are upfront installation costs, but you make that money back every month in reduced utility bills.

One of the first things you need to consider is if a solar energy system makes financial sense. Solar power increases the overall value of your home and decreases your energy costs – both very good things. According to San Diego roofing company Nu-Energy Solutions by Nu-Cote, it can take 5-10 years to recoup your investment. So – it isn’t something that should be taken lightly. If you are not planning to stay in your home long, it probably does not make sense.

The federal and state government are providing excellent incentives to those who incorporate solar energy into their homes. These incentives are geared toward early adopters – if it is something you want to do, you should do it quickly before the government money runs out.

It usually takes about 2 to 5 days to install a solar system on a residential roof and 1 to 3 weeks for commercial installation. The time will vary depending on the complexity of your roof and number of panels to be installed. Be sure to work with a company that is experienced and takes care of every step – such as efficient, attractive design, permits, installation and inspection. Be sure to work with a company who monitors your system to be sure it is always working correctly. If your system is installed right, you shouldn’t need to do much – other than make sure to keep trees trimmed that may over hang and block the sun and occasionally wash and inspect the panels.

Since the amount of power your solar system generates is a direct result of sunlight, it will produce slightly less energy when the weather is cloudy. Your system will not produce any energy at night. Your Nu-Energy Solutions power system will be interconnected to your local utility grid, so that you can automatically begin to draw power from the grid whenever you need it. You won’t experience any power interruptions-the switch between solar system power and the utility grid happens seamlessly, with no effort on your part

If you are interested in investing in a solar power system for your home, there are several options. Make sure you do your research and know what works best for you. Work with a company that knows your area well (i.e. has worked with a variety of San Diego homeowners) and has many successful installations.
